Wise Owl Publishing
Enter a World of Wonder, Inclusion and Fantasy
Who we are
Wise Owl Publishing is an independent publisher based in Canada. We strive for diverse representation and firmly believe that everyone should see themselves in a story. With a focus on fantasy, new adult and teen fiction, and fiction, we strive for stories that are inspiring, adventurous and leaves you wanting more.
We are looking for stories with, in particular, representation from the LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities.
At this time we are currently not able to receive manuscripts for consideration. We are working hard towards growing in order to accept writers in the future.
the many faces of
Justine Werklund
Author, CEO, Bibliophile
I am a queer woman (she/her) who writes stories reflected in my life and the world around me. I have always gravitated towards Fantasy as it is a wonderful way to explore at the whim of the author. From playing with the rules of mythology, to getting in touch with my inner witch, my stories will entertain and inspire.
I write with diversity in mind, with an unwavering belief that everyone should be free to see themselves in a story. Please be respectful to all who live on this planet.
In a world where literacy is undermined and dismissed, I hopes that readers find a sanctuary within the worlds I create. I encourage everyone to pick up a book, no matter what it is, and to give it a chance. You will traverse worlds that you never imagined, encounter characters from all walks of life which, in turn, will expand your own way of seeing the world around you.
Content for all
Everyone should be free to see themselves in a story. Stories are magical places filled with wonder and entertainment. They are meant to expand our knowledge of the world and understand situations in a healthy way.

Your voice matters...
With the rise of misinformation and fake news, we are seeing a world tumble back in time. Hatred and fear are driving people to make dangerous opinions and decisions. Women’s rights, Trans and Queer rights are all being targeted. Rather than let those oppressive voices win, stand up and fight. Vote, protest and learn how to combat misinformation and fake news found on social media. Whether you think this or not, your voice matters. Stand up and fight against the extremists and the ignorant (if you feel safe to do so). Do not keep your head buried in the sand.
If you are a writer and want to write inclusivity with respect, do you research first and do it well. Stories are fantastic bridges to today’s issues so I encourage you to do so!
